There's another option called BackBid.com. You book a hotel with a refundable reservation. Then, go to BackBid.com to bid, by getting hotels in the surrounding area to outbid the Hotel you booked. Then, you'll get competitive bids to try and lure you away from your booked hotel. Johnny saved 2/3s on a recent hotel stay using it. Leo says that hotels probably have a love/hate relationship with BackBid because they lose money on a rate, but get business by luring it away from a competitor.
